When is an RGN trailer used?

A removable gooseneck trailer is commonly evaluated when self-propelled equipment needs to drive onto a low deck from the front. It can reduce loaded height and avoid separate crane loading. Deck length, concentrated load, axle distribution, ground clearance, ramp angle and site surface must still be checked against the actual machine and route.

When is a multi-axle trailer needed?

A multi-axle configuration is evaluated when gross vehicle weight, concentrated cargo weight or jurisdictional axle limits cannot be managed by a standard trailer. The decision depends on loaded weight, center of gravity, axle spacing, bridge review, trailer capacity and route geometry. More axles do not automatically make every route feasible.

Who provides cranes or rigging for loading?

Responsibility must be assigned in writing before dispatch. Depending on the project, the shipper, receiver, carrier or a contracted rigging company may supply cranes, forklifts, gantries, operators and lift plans. Confirm equipment capacity, certifications, site access, ground bearing, working radius, appointment windows and who controls the loading operation.

Is the lowest trailer always the best choice?

No. Lower deck height can help vertical clearance, but usable deck length, concentrated-load capacity, ramp angle, ground clearance, axle distribution, neck operation and site access may make another configuration safer or more practical. Trailer selection must evaluate the full cargo, vehicle, route and facility system rather than optimizing one dimension.

When is crane loading preferable to drive-on loading?

Crane loading may be preferable when cargo cannot run, roll or steer safely; ramp angles are unsuitable; support points require controlled placement; or the facility cannot accommodate drive-on movement. Verify lift weight, center of gravity, rigging points, crane radius, ground bearing, operators, exclusion zones and responsibility at both facilities.
