Alaska requires a statewide oversize or overweight permit when a vehicle or nondivisible load exceeds the legal size or weight rules applicable to the route and configuration. Applications use AKSWOOP. Seasonal weight restrictions, bridge limits, route conditions and the Elliott-Dalton corridor can materially change the allowable movement and permit conditions.

Alaska publishes distinct fee thresholds for the Elliott-Dalton corridor between Fox Weigh Station and Prudhoe Bay. Treat it as a route-specific operating environment.
Road conditions
Use Alaska 511 for current closures and conditions. A permit does not override a closure, posted bridge restriction or unsafe route condition.
